Sandra is an Associate and Data Protection Officer in S.P.A. Ajibade & Co’s Intellectual Property & Technology, Data Privacy & Protection and Telecommunications Department, where she advises clients on a wide range of intellectual property rights, data protection and telecommunication law issues.
She routinely advises local and international clients on telecommunications licensing, data privacy and protection issues and compliance requirements under the relevant data protection legislations in Nigeria. She also advises high net worth companies on registration, enforcement, rights transfer and portfolio management of trademarks; copyright related issues; commercialisation, registration, renewal and licensing of patents and designs in Nigeria, OAPI, ARIPO and other jurisdictions.
She has written several articles on various aspects of data privacy & protection, intellectual property rights exploitation, telecommunication regulations and licensing, some of which have been published on global platforms like Mondaq, Global Law Experts, Corporate Livewire Intellectual Property Expert Guide and Nigerian Law Intellectual Property Watch. One of her co-authored articles won the “Most Popular Article” award on Mondaq” in September 2020 which led to her recognition as a thought leader in Data Protection on Mondaq in 2021.
She is passionate about IP and Data protection rights and regularly conducts in-house trainings on these subject matters. She has had the opportunity to speak to law students, legal practitioners, and business owners on a wide range of IP rights management and data protection compliance relatedissues.
