Ridwan Oloyede

Co-founder Tech Hive Advisory,

Ridwan co-founded Tech Hive Advisory, a technology policy advisory and research firm with a footprint in Africa and Europe. He leads the technology policy team and is also a senior data consultant. He is also an Associate Director at the Centre for Law and Innovation, Kigali, Rwanda. Ridwan is a technology policy advisor, researcher, and data protection professional with a strong presence in Africa. He has advised global and African companies on compliance aspects of data protection, regulatory intelligence, technology policy, and artificial intelligence governance.

He is also the co-founder of Privacy Lens Africa and Privacy Bar Bants, innovative platforms that leverage visualisation and podcasting to create awareness. He is aliated with influential networks such as the Africa Digital Rights Network, Africa Law and Tech Network, AfroLeadership, Privacy Alliance, and the Africa Data Governance Initiative. Ridwan also holds key roles as an advisory board member of the Continental Approach and as a Trustee for the African Biodata Foundation. He is recognised as an expert at the Data Protection Unit of the Council of Europe, a member of the privacy working group at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), and ranked as a national leader on data by Who is Who Legal.

Ridwan has authored and contributed to book chapters, reports, policy briefs, and policy interventions. He has a Master’s in Law and Technology from Tilburg University. He’s also a Fellow of Information Privacy with the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP), a Fellow of Access to Justice Tech Design Lab, Tilburg Institute of Law and Technology, and a Research Fellow at the African Academic Network on Internet Policy.
