The Winner is the nominee to have excelled in these areas:

  • Practicing in the Nigerian market: The nominee must either be based in Nigeria, provide products or services to Nigerian consumers, or focus on the Nigerian market.


  • Demonstrated Knowledge/Expertise: The nominee has a proven track record of expertise and competence in the field of privacy. This may include a strong understanding of relevant laws and regulations, as well as the ability to apply privacy principles effectively in real-world situations.


  • Innovation: The nominee has contributed to advancing privacy and data protection in Nigeria through innovative approaches, technologies, or strategies. This could include the development of new tools, processes, or policies that promote the field of privacy and data protection.


  • Ethical Leadership: Ethical behavior and leadership in the field of privacy and data protection are essential. Nominees should demonstrate a commitment to upholding the highest ethical standards in their work, including transparency, accountability, and respect for rights and freedoms.


  • Impact: The nominee’s work should have had a significant impact on the field of privacy and data protection, either within their organization, the broader industry, or the public at large. This may be measured through quantifiable improvements in privacy practices, the prevention of data breaches, or the enhancement of individuals’ privacy experiences.


  • Advocacy and Education: Nominees have actively contributed to the education and awareness of privacy and data protection issues should be recognized. This may include speaking engagements, publications, training programs, policy advancement or advocacy efforts that promote privacy awareness and understanding.


  • Compliance and Governance: The nominee has demonstrated a commitment to privacy compliance and governance within their organization or industry.   • Continuous Learning: Rising stars should show a dedication to continuous learning and staying up-to-date with the latest developments in privacy laws, regulations, and technologies including trainings, workshops, seminars and courses undertaken.
